College Planning - 9th, 10th, and 11th Grades

We can give you personalized guidance on the significant choices and decisions you need to make in high school to prepare for and get into a selective college.

The choices and decisions you make in 9th, 10th, and 11th grades can have major consequences for you in the college admissions process.  We can work with you to develop a strategy and action plan that includes advice and counsel in 4 core areas:

  • Academics
  • Extracurricular Activities & Hobbies
  • Personal & Social Development
  • College Exploration & Preparation

You and your Consultant will work together, with input from your parents, to develop a set of goals for the year.  You'll have goals for each of the four core areas.   Then you and your Consultant will work together to develop a plan to achieve your identified goals in each area.  Your parents will know what your plan is, so that they can encourage and support you in executing it.

You will confer with your Consultant on a regular basis to check on your progress and develop ways to overcome any obstacles.  You can also talk with your Consultant at any time to discuss choices and decisions you are facing.  You'll get candid and confidential advice about how to determine the right choice or decision for you.  Unless you request otherwise, your parents will get regular reports on the website about how things are going.

At year end, your Consultant will help you document your successes, so you have a good record to use in your college application.
