Rules of the Road: Posting Dos and Don'ts

We love free expression. We love knock-down, drag-out, spirited debate. We don't love trolls, spammers, abusive jerks, or flame warriors who chase away well-intentioned posters. In that spirit, here are our Dos and Don'ts:

DO have strong opinions and back them up. DON'T engage in personal attacks.

DO capitalize, punctuate, and spell properly. DON'T write as if you're text-messaging.

DON'T use all-caps or "shout."

DO post new threads in the appropriate forums.

DO stay on topic. If you want to post something off-topic, label the new thread "off topic" but stay within the ballpark. We will not look kindly on threads like "The Ten Hottest Ugly Women of 2008."

DON'T post advertisements or spam.
