I can't believe I haven't told you, I opted for BC :) Thanks for everything you really helped me so much with the whole process. It's my brother's turn soon. He is a completely different person in terms of the way he does work and of course personality, haha but I believe you'll do the same for him :).

Well W is finally off to school, and I wanted to thank you for your invaluable counsel as he worked through the college process. Having spent last weekend at Northwestern, I am so excited for W and have a great feeling about it as the right place for him. You did such a great job of showing him the world of possibilities, helping him to navigate the process, and helping him to fully think through his decision.

Thank you for sharing your "wow" assessment of J's work. It means a great deal, especially coming from you. Your insight and guidance through the whole college process has been (and continues to be) greatly valued and appreciated. 

Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I decided to commit to George Washington University! I think it will be a pretty awesome place to go to school. Also, thanks for helping me with everything! 

I was wondering if I could have your mailing address (haha I know that sounds weird) so I could send you a graduation announcement. If not, I can always scan it to you!

We are very proud of M - he’s worked hard in a number of areas to put himself in a great position. We can’t believe he’s going off to college so soon! We are equally excited about him getting into a challenging environment in the US and making the most of the experience.

We really want to thank you for all your care and attention to M over the past four years. We think you’ve had a tremendous impact on his focus, planning and goal setting which has materialized into great accomplishments. As a result, what should have been overwhelming and stressful - applying to colleges -- has been somewhat anticlimactic in a good way. Being proactive and having a plan has put M in this position.

Also, your advice to us on school choice has been invaluable.  Pomona wouldn’t have been on the top of our list (or on our list) when this process started, but now we truly feel that Pomona will be a tremendous fit for M and we feel good about his decision.  

We need to talk about our 7th grader next!  

[Our son] listened to you more than us.  He began to understand the implications of the process and his relative position within it. You provided us with perspective, which at times was essential to being able to coexist with the lad.

Honestly, I think your point about the student presenting a consistent, cohesive picture of himself was important. For many kids and parents (as you obviously know) the tendency is to try to hit all of targets as hard as possible each on an individual basis, and that likely does not ring true on the other end.
